Their soulful connection was rekindled five years later, on a retreat in Costa Rica, & the rest, as they say, is herstory!
Meet Vicki
Vicki Rivard is a space holder, alchemical healer and word weaver (and the author of the indie bestseller, brave new mama). Her life, her practice, and her words are rooted in the belief that we are elemental beings, interconnected beyond time and space, and that remembering this is key to personal and planetary transformation.
Her teachings and treatments honour the wisdom and celebrate the poetry of Classical Chinese Medicine which, at its core, is a medicine of the spirit.
Vicki is a graduate of the Advanced Chinese Medicine Diploma Program at the Institute of Traditional Medicine (Toronto) and is the recipient of the Karen Haffey Memorial Award for Leadership in Changing the World. She is in continual mentorship with Lorie Dechar, author of the seminal book, Five Spirits.
Vicki is also a Certified End-of-Life Care Facilitator who has studied with Henry Fersko-Weiss (originator of the term Death Doula). She finds profound meaning in accompanying people through the deep waters of death, dying, sadness, and grief.
In 2022, Vicki launched her own studio—The Shen Studio—on the shores of Lake Nipissing in Callander, Ontario. In this space, people come to see and be seen, to heal and be held, and to reconnect with the speck of starlight that lives in their heart (Shen).

Meet Jocelyn
Jocelyn Rose's classes are a playful and challenging exploration of the spirit, linking movement and breath in one Divine dance.
Jocelyn shares inspiration through asana, mantra, mudra, meditation and breath. Her teaching style is a blend of graceful and creative movement intermingled with her passion for alignment and attention to detail, which she believes ultimately leads to freedom in both the body and the mind.
Jocelyn has studied/practiced yoga and meditation in India, Chicago, New York City, Atlanta and Toronto. Jocelyn completed her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification in 2009 at Laughing Lotus in NYC.
She began teaching in 2009 and continues to teach both in-person and virtually today. She is forever grateful for the opportunity to help others remember their inner wisdom, breath and abundance of life.
In 2014, Jocelyn co-created and co-taught a Yoga Teacher Training curriculum for Sacred Thread Yoga in Atlanta, GA. She holds a Masters degree in Vocal Performance-Opera and currently enjoys singing kirtan and leading mantra workshops.
You can listen to one of her mantra recordings (Shining Lokah by Mantra Ma) here and learn more about her various wellness offerings here.
In their work, both together & apart, Vicki & Jocelyn place tremendous value on creating safe spaces for deep rest & reflection;
exploration & authentic expression;
courage & creativity.
"Vicki has an ability to deeply see you.
The words she speaks are the most beautiful poetry. They wrap you in a fuzzy blanket, calm your nervous system, & light a candle to soothe your soul.
While I live a whole country away, I can't wait to travel back to Vicki again. Worth the journey."
— Shelly Stone, Chicago
"Jocelyn's yoga classes are more than classes—they are intimate & sacred ceremonies that meet you where you are & honour your inherent wholeness.
Her voice is one that touches the heart of every person in the room. To be serenaded by Jocelyn is to be moved at the cellular level & forever changed."
— Jillian Hedison, Toronto
"Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen."
